For my prototype, I developed a website for my idea of Sustainably Late (name may change). Sustainably Late is a fashion company dedicated towards helping consumers be more sustainable, hence the name, and keeping our earth alive. The goal is to have consumers send the company a box of least nine bottles in return for an article of clothing. The one thing is users have to send bottles that are all the same color so Sustainably Late can design the shirt in a solid color. Once the manufacturer receives the user’s bottles, they will be broken down into tiny flakes through conveyers, which will then be washed and heated. After this, the flakes are sent to a facility, where they spin and texturize the material into yarn. The yarn is then sewn into the article of clothing the user choses and sent to be screen printed. The screen printers will use water-based inked, as well as quantify the amount of the garment and ink they need to use on the shirt to be designed.

While I’m continuing to work on my protoype for Sustainably Late, after speaking with Ahmed Ansari, my Media Theory professor, I may combine my seminar paper with my pre-thesis concept since they both have to do with sustainability and I will be doing in-depth research for my seminar paper.
