Over this past week, I attempted to watch Midnight Gospel to help me form more ideas for my final prototype, however, I had some trouble getting into the show. I watched up to the third episode, but I struggled to grasp certain concepts from the show. I might not have been giving it a fair chance, although I’m going to try watching it again this weekend.I also rewatched the movie, Transendence, to get a better understanding of the sci-fi concept of whole brain emulation, and it made me ask the question: what would a world of humans who could use telekinesis through tiny technological molecules look like?

As I contemplated more ideas I want to produce for my pre-thesis, I considered immortality, life after covid, and space wars. I first looked through videos of what humanity would like if we could never stopped aging and found out while there may be ways to slow down again and look young for years, our bodies could one day just give up on us, while we could never die, but our bodies my be so decrepit we’d be living in agony.

After researching immortality, I looked up what a possible space war would like, however, the information was a bit over my head, so I decided to look into life after covid and the post human idea of space travel. I came across a video on how humans could get to Proxima B, and I was able to come up with a possible idea for my prototype through that information.

Storyline: Felix is a 26-year-old PhD student concentrating in Sustainable Development and his main focus this year has been on how humans can one day transport themselves onto another planet to escape earth’s fatality of climate change, deadly diseases, and a possible apocalypse. He’s done some research on Proxima B, an exoplanet that has the potentiality of sustaining human life. On the App Store, he comes across ProXima, a virtual reality experience of what space travel to another planet would like. He puts on his Oculus headset and immerses himself in the experience.
