Matt Winnicki — A5 Final
After four weeks of playing around with my animations, audio, type, and transitions in After Effects, I must say I’m pleased with the result. I chose a piece of audio from the movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, my favorite movie. I started off with a storyboard, which now looks a bit different from my final deliverable. After receiving feedback on my storyboard, I decided to start playing around with the audio in After Effects and see what I could change from my storyboard draft. I chose two fonts, Pacific Northwest and Aventura, for the characters and incorporated colors used throughout the movie. Clementine’s (main character) hair color changes throughout the movie, so I wanted to implement her various hair colors into the type and background. I ended up using a few different colors in addition to her hair colors to evoke more emotion throughout the motion design. I ended up changing the fonts by this week thanks to some feedback I received about the characters’ personality/emotion throughout the audio. I also have the last “okay” Clementine says linger until the end of the video. I will say, this has been my favorite project in the course and I can’t wait to use After Effects more in the future.
