Matt Winnicki — A5, Part 1
For my motion design, I wasn’t sure what audio to pick at first, but then I remembered my favorite movie, Eternal Sunshine, and selected a clip from it. There was one Youtube channel that featured eleven different scenes from the movie and it wasn’t until the eleventh scene, the last scene featured, I found the audio I wanted to use for my project.
I don’t want to spoil anything, but the scene involves the two protagonists rejoining after listening to some shocking tapes. Joel tries to convince Clementine, his ex-girlfriend, that he wants to be with her which she inevitably agrees to.
I looked through some random fonts online and came across “Pacific Northwest,” which I chose to use for Clementine because it seemed like a good typeface to represent her spontaneous personality, which I chose Aventura for Joel because it was a bit more toned down and soft like Joel.
I used a brand sheet I found from Google Images based off the movie and used it to design my background, space, and font color. I thought the brand sheet would be goof to choose colors from because the choices were similar to Clementine’s differentiating hair colors in the movie. I kind of just messed around with the type and I’m excited to play with it more with in After Effects. I also decided to to try adding shapes in the third row which are supposed to represent Joel’s thoughts.
